Custom Handmade Knives for Sale

In 1985 I participated in my first knife show at the Oregon Knife Collectors Association in Eugene, Oregon. Also, in 1985 I took some of my knives with Hawaiian Koa handles with me on a vacation to Hawaii. That proved to be a great market for many years with my knives selling on Kauai, Maui and the Big Island. Working from my designs or from a customer's design and specs, I take sole authorship of each step in the process—including heat treating and blade tempering. I would recommend this knife in a heartbeat...especially for bikers and military personnel. However, don't just stop at digital scrutiny; join local knife clubs or attend knife shows to interact with makers directly. This hands-on approach allows you to assess the quality of their work, understand their process, and discuss customization options. I've been wanting to create a Kitchen Knife set for my family. Once I showed them off, lots of people were asking Knife enthusiast if I'd make some for the public. Here's a picture of one and you'll find them on our Kitchen Knives page. They also happen to own a little company called Schilling Forge, a name which some knife makers in the audience might be familiar with. Barry Clodfelter is a Journeyman Smith with the American Bladesmith Society with years of experience hand crafting custom blades. All blades are heat treated to the highest standards to create not only a knife that is unique and beautiful but is also up to the challenges of the most demanding user. These books are unique among books about custom knives. They provide unparalleled photography and information about some of the best knife makers in the world. Jerry’s knives appeal to outdoor enthusiasts, hunters, collectors and chefs. It took just over 2.5 months from submitting the design to getting it delivered. Although this may seem like a long time, keep in my that my design was a custom one made from a template, nothing that could be bought in a store. Let Nell Knives design, create and be the perfect custom knife maker for you. We also make handmade custom leather sheaths for all of our knives. The sheaths are all hand cut and stitched, triple layered, and hand stamped and stained. They seem to be a great source for high-end survival and tactical designs. Currently there is only a small range of knives with the Spartan Blades name made outside the US. It mostly follows an easy line of “fixed blades are from the States; folders are from Taiwan” with a few exceptions. The result is that every Olamic Cutlery knife is a little different (their company motto is “Never the Same”, so that checks out). Ka-Bar and BK&T work independently from Cutco for the most part, but as I understand it, any Ka-Bar or Becker knife made in America is made in the Cutco factory in Olean, New York. They also all seem to be fixed blade, which actually gives us a pretty convenient reference point. When I make a knife I don’t want the materials to represent the knife, making the knife valuable only because of the materials. No, I want the material to complete the knife and letting the shape and design define it. My name is André Andersson and I´m a custom knifemaker from the north of Sweden, a small country at the northern edges of Europe with about 9.3 million inhabitants. If radical designs and over-the-top styling are your thing, Serge Panchenko Custom Knives are just for you. It was rekindled by Steve Paolandonio, a descendant of the original founders. Information on this new iteration is difficult to find, but it looks like Steve mostly rebuilt the company name on the backs of cheap imports. Now they have a few military contracts again, making a few different models for both military and police officers, and they do have a US-based factory with some limitations. The majority of their designs follow a “functional fantasy” aesthetic that grew from an early interest in biomechanical art, so they might not be for everyone. They also aren’t easy to get in the first place, because Brous runs a small operation. But if you’re looking for something a little different, you should definitely be able to find it in Brous Knive’s line up. Their new Generational knives are made entirely in the USA. They all sport the “Old Timer USA” stamp on the blade, and most of them are sporting 1095 steel. I’m not sure what factory they’re using yet, but we have tried out one of the new Generational slip joint folders, and the quality is pretty excellent. We also ordered the American made version of the Sharpfinger pictured above, and it impressed us too. They do make chef knives in their Petaluma shop, but those are a lot more expensive and a lot more scarce unless you’re ordering a custom piece direct from the shop. I use fossil mammoth ivory, fossil walrus ivory, exotic woods, and precious metals. Many of the knives you see are made from mosaic damascus steel that I forge. Ben Noffsinger is an American bladesmith who builds heirloom-quality kitchen knives designed for everyday use. Completing every aspect of the process himself, he hand forges carbon steel, and shapes the handles from raw natural materials.
